Wednesday 14th December saw CCAG hold it’s 3rd Annual Christmas Meal and Awards evening, once again at The Queens Head, Needingworth. A big thank you to hosts Linda & Fraser and their team for putting on such a good meal as always.
46 people attended the meal, to hear Martin describe 2016 as an amazing year for the club; with 83 puppies joining classes and 57 new members joining the club.
Agility classes suffered from the poor weather that lasted from February to June, although numbers in the Young Starters Class continued to be strong throughout. Members competing in Agility competitions have had another busy and successful year, catch up with them in Agility News
Obedience training continues to go from strength to strength, and Puppy Classes became so busy in the autumn, we had to open on Tuesday evenings as well until Christmas. With many people choosing to keep on training their dogs, the Beginners Classes are proving very popular; so much so, that regular Tuesday evening classes are a distinct possibility for 2017.
When we introduced the CCAG Dog Walks in 2015, none of us were prepared for how popular and well supported they would be. In 2016, as well as our normal two monthly walk around Holywell, we also introduced the Beach walk at Wells-Next-The-Sea which has also proved to be a firm favourite. Look out for more Dog walk dates in 2017.
The Fun Day in July 2016 also proved more popular than ever (see members1) and the BBQ and Buffet ended an enjoyable day of Agility Competitions, Scurry and pool splashing.
After munching their way through three courses of Christmas fayre, members sat back and put their hands together for the 2016 Award winners:
Obedience Handler & Dog - John & Nelson
Agility Handler & Dog - Iwona & Keeper
Obedience Most Improved (Joint) - Gija & Saabi
Obedience Most Improved (Joint) - Kasia & Mura
Agility Most Improved - Vicky & Poppy
Special Achievement - Anne & Pumba
Xmas Dinner & Awards 2016
What a journey for Susan and Cloud. Persuaded to show him, Susan albeit reluctantly at first, has made huge strides in a short time, and on the Sunday at Crufts; Cloud won Best Junior Puppy in Breed.
At only 13 months old, this is a huge achievement for this young dog, but as you can see, definitely well deserved!
Everyone at CCAG is thrilled for them, and congratulate them on a fantastic showing!
